Q&A
What is a reasonable budget for a corporate AI trainer?
Short answer
An AI trainer budget ranges from free for theory seminars, to tens of millions of rupiah for day workshops, up to hundreds of millions for intensive coaching. Do not waste funds if your goal is just a certificate. Budget tens of millions per division for real efficiency and automation.
HR and managers often struggle when planning next quarter's budget. One vendor pitches a five million rupiah session. Another asks for fifty million. Why the massive gap?
I will give it to you straight. The price of AI training depends on the final outcome. The AI training market in Indonesia falls into three tiers.
The first tier is seminars. The price ranges from free to a few million rupiah per session. The main focus is just a basic introduction. Participants learn what AI is and watch demos. However, do not expect your team's workflow to change the next day.
The second tier is a one day workshop. Budgets range in the tens of millions, depending on the trainer. Participants get hands on practice. Unfortunately, they usually work on generic case studies instead of their actual jobs. People leave the event feeling energized, but a week later they are usually back to their old manual habits.
The third tier is a coaching program. This is where budgets start in the tens of millions per division. Large scale transformation programs can even hit hundreds of millions. Here, participants use AI to complete their actual daily tasks. Mentors review their work, and there are clear success metrics.
Saving companies money is an old habit of mine, long before AI became a trend: over 4 million USD per year from various initiatives like process improvements, cost optimization, and more efficient product decisions. In the past, that kind of leverage required a senior position, an engineering team, and expensive systems. Now, AI is the sharpest tool for that same habit, and it can be trained into everyone on the team.
The proof is very real. Last March, I wrote 325 code commits by myself to build a real software product. Routine work that used to take me 3 hours now gets done in 20 minutes with AI assistance.
In my view, paying tens of millions per division is highly reasonable if you get measurable results. You are not buying the trainer's time. You are buying the efficiency of your employees' working hours. It is a massive loss if your company budget goes to attendance certificates without any real impact on operational business metrics.
If your corporate training budget is not ready yet, or if you want to try automating your own work, I am opening the AI Circle class. The core session runs on Sunday, August 9, 2026. We will dissect your actual work and find the parts you can hand off to an AI assistant. You will go home with a ready to use system. Early bird spots are very limited.
